Embassy Goes to School X Grow with ID: Inspiring the Next Generation to Pursue Higher Education

KabarFAB – The English Literature Student Association Faculty of Adab and Languages of the State Islamic University (UIN) Raden Mas Said Surakarta successfully carried out an outreach program titled “Embassy Goes to School X Grow with ID” at SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta. The event was held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Thursday, April 23 2026 and aimed to motivate high school students to understand the importance of continuing their education to a higher level. This program also served as an opportunity to introduce UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta, particularly the English Literature study program, to prospective students.

This collaborative program reflected a strong commitment to educational development and youth empowerment. By directly engaging with students in a school environment, the organizers were able to create a more personal and impactful learning experience. The atmosphere of the event was both educational and inspiring, encouraging students to actively think about their future academic journeys.

One of the main sessions of the program focused on the importance of pursuing higher education, delivered by Rezky Genta Akila, S.Sos, as the Project Manager of Grow with ID. In this session, he emphasized that continuing one’s studies is not only about obtaining a degree, but also about developing a broader mindset, improving critical thinking skills, and preparing for competitive career opportunities. He also highlighted how higher education can shape personal growth and open doors to various professional pathways in the future.

In addition to the motivational session, a university introduction and study program socialization were conducted by Ridho Ja’far, as the Head of the English Literature Student Association. In this session, he introduced UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta as a higher education institution that provides a supportive academic environment, diverse student activities, and opportunities for self-development. He also shared insights about campus life, learning experiences, and student organizations that enrich students’ academic journeys.

Furthermore, the English Literature program was presented as a dynamic field of study that covers three main areas: literature, linguistics, and translation. Students were given an overview of what they would learn in each field, as well as the skills they could develop, such as analytical thinking, communication skills, and cultural awareness. This explanation aimed to help students better understand the relevance and advantages of choosing English Literature as their future major.

The event was delivered in an interactive and engaging manner, where students were encouraged to ask questions and participate in discussions. This created a lively and supportive environment, allowing participants to express their curiosity and gain deeper understanding about university life and academic opportunities. The enthusiasm of the students showed that they were highly interested in the topics presented.

Alhamdulillah, the entire event ran smoothly and successfully. The positive response from the students of SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta indicated that the program achieved its objectives in raising awareness about the importance of higher education. The participants not only gained new knowledge but were also motivated to start planning their future more seriously.

Overall, “Embassy Goes to School X Grow with ID” was a meaningful and impactful initiative. It was not merely a promotional activity, but also an educational movement that aimed to inspire and empower the younger generation. This program also strengthened the role of the English Literature Student Association in contributing to society through educational outreach and knowledge sharing. It is hoped that activities like this will continue in the future, reaching more students and encouraging them to confidently pursue their dreams through higher education.
